YOKE 3hr Sound/Movement Journey with Sacred Summit aka. Timmus

Greetings Yoke Family,

We have decided this was too good of a collaboration to skip out on completely. The YOKE that was cancelled is now POSTPONED to August 31, so we can begin the ascent out of our wintery cocoons together.

We will gather on a Saturday eve for 3 hours of sound healing, moving into facilitated yoga, followed by a beatsy conscious dance. Music will be curated by the incredibly talented Timmus-Tim Streckfuss as his Sacred Summit project. There will be a tea to kick off the night, intentional altar magic and all the wonderful things that this thriving community has to share. So don’t delay – get your ticket today!

YOKE is a Melbourne based community fusing dance & self expression with live and electronic beats. The word YOKE is a Sanskrit term meaning ‘coming together’, forming union. Our workshops are about facilitating authentic connections to oneself and one other in a space completely free from judgments. We invite you to take the time to let go of the mind and drop into the body through conscious dance, movement and meditation. YOKE is a collaborative consciousness calling all individuals seeking to express intuitively and energize the soul.

At YOKE we believe in oneness at the core of all existence. With the help of our resident DJs and musicians, who play a mixture of down tempo, deep house, techno, world and live sound healing, we will take you on a two-hour journey releasing the mind and opening the heart. Always guided by your own body’s wisdom, the sacred space and music provided become a backing track to the deeper lessons that lie within ourselves when we truly let go.

Sanna Olive is a movement facilitator, body worker and motivational up-lifter. Having danced from a small age, she has explored various styles of Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, African, Funk, Electronic and Improvisational free flow. She has recently expanded her knowledge of the correlation between body and mind through a regular yoga meditation practice and ancient healing techniques. Her vision for Yoke was to create a safe space for like-minded bodies and souls to call home. One where each individual feels comfortable expressing themselves in their unique and wonderful ways. A place of acceptance and nurture, as well as a whole lot of fun and funkiness!

A general life lover and advocate of wholehearted living, Sanna is passionate about assisting others in realizing their own true potential and light. She is thankful for the opportunity to be a leader of today, and for the ongoing support received by the community in carrying out her soul’s purpose.

TIMMUS (AUS): Summit backwards, is a communal word, meaning we are going to the summit.

Growing up in country Victoria, Timmus has been bringing his original twisted micro funk and eclectic groove sounds to the streets and back to the bush since the tender age of 15 in 2005. Known for his long and life-changing musical journeys behind the decks, he is constantly pushing boundaries beyond genres.
Living and breathing sound & vibration religiously, building instruments, making sound & rhythm with combinations of the most unlikely objects, collecting & archiving an extremely broad spectrum of audio, incorporating field recordings, minimalism, tribalism, experimentalism, solfeggio & sacred frequencies.

As well as being a father, Timmus is also co-owner of Australian label Smash Bang Records and has released music on labels like LucidFlow, Heinz, Sprout, Subsonic, K47 Music, Smash Bang, Open Records, Lights Out Toronto, Suckmusic.
He has applied his remix touches to names like Uone, Thankyou City, Nick Coleman, Jules David, Augmented, Dersu Uzala, Luke Mcd, Ronnie Gordan and Upfunk. Alongside performing at events like Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia) Fusion Festival (Germany) Strawberry Fields (Aus), C/o Pop Festival (Germany), , Subsonic Music Festival (Australia), Earthdance and many more. Timmus is also involved in Killing Time, an iconic bar in Melbourne that has become a hub for underground musical and artistic communities on the (in)famous Chapel Street.

As you can start see the young artist has already accomplished a lifes work in such a small space of time. Now there is nothing left to do but keep your eye to the top of the summit and watch this young Australian artist climb to the very peak!

Arrive at 5.45pm for a 6pm start.

We will begin in meditation with a 45 mins sound journey
This will flow into 45 minutes of Yoga with Tuli, Narayani Yoga
You will be guided into your free flowing ecstatic dance by Sanna to end the night.

Please wear comfy clothes.
Blankets and yoga mats provided but you may want to bring some extra warm things to wrap around you for the sound healing.

The night will end at approximately 9.30pm.

We ask that if you intend on coming you please book online beforehand. This helps us out a lot in getting an idea of numbers for the tea, setting up the space and covering the costs of the event.

The cost of this ticket covers the hard work and dedication on many parts that goes into the creation of each YOKE session. The exclusive sounds that have been carefully selected to tantalise your earholes, altering your consciousness into a state of transcendence. And the sacred space we are lucky enough to be using, including complementary chai/tea/snacks/elixirs before or after the dance to integrate and connect to this growing community. A large portion of funds is put towards expanding this conscious dance network in new and dynamic ways, so YOU can get more out of this collective journey. This is a collaborative movement that has evolved based on what the community want and need, so please if you have any ideas, suggestions or contributions we would love to hear from you.
