YOKE Woven with Mastumoto Zoku

17 January, 2020 @ 6:15 pm - 9:00 pm

$36.25

The Woven is an opportunity to weave ourselves together as one kindred. In the year 2020, we aim to bring more unity and consciousness around the theme of harmonising ourselves with each other to create equality and community. We weave ourselves together in this conscious space for dance and movement as a symbol of how we weave our lives together outside of this space. How you do one thing is how you do everything.

Facilitated by Sally Meredith – Elements Embodied:

Since she could walk, Sally has been wholeheartedly invested in embodied expression, from Yoga to dance, to circus and healing arts.
She first began facilitating movement practices as a part time dance teacher whilst at high-school. During her tertiary studies of contemporary dance at Deakin University, Sally enrolled in her first Yoga Teacher Training with the Australian Yoga Academy. Upon graduating in 2008 Sally taught her first yoga class, and has since taught and trained extensively across studios, retreats and festivals, both nationally and internationally.

Being intrigued by the experiential anatomy of our bodies and timeless yogic concepts, Sally’s offerings will guide you on a poetic journey with your breath, body and heart.

Sally deeply values the importance of cultivating a friendliness and kindness that begins within our relationship toward ourselves. This is one of the greatest gifts she has received from the yogic path.

“As we learn how to be at home in our own being, there is no way of escaping the deep fulfillment that arises when we can contribute to the happiness of another.” ~Sally Meredith

Apart from her training’s, workshops, retreats and classes; Sally finds deep fulfillment in her sacred activist work, hosting and facilitating conscious charity events and working on the ground with people in need.

ABOUT THE YOKE MOVEMENT:

YOKE is a Melbourne based community fusing dance & self expression with live and electronic beats. The word YOKE is a Sanskrit term meaning ‘coming together’, forming union. Our workshops are about facilitating authentic connections to oneself and one other in a space completely free from judgments. We invite you to take the time to let go of the mind and drop into the body through conscious dance, movement and meditation. YOKE is a collaborative consciousness calling all individuals seeking to express intuitively and energize the soul.

At YOKE we believe in oneness at the core of all existence. With the help of our resident DJs and musicians, who play a mixture of down tempo, deep house, techno, world and live sound healing, we will take you on a two-hour journey releasing the mind and opening the heart. Always guided by your own body’s wisdom, the sacred space and music provided become a backing track to the deeper lessons that lie within ourselves when we truly let go.

ALL WELCOME.
